About Organization

To all the Satras of Assam, people who are faithful to Satriya culture, pioneers of Satriya culture, artists, social workers with a passion for Satriya culture, like-minded people involved in the academic world and the political field, along with their help to the preservation of the vast cultural contributions made by Srimanta Sankardeva-Madhavadevas and their disciples and enhancement, with the help of people living all over Assam and different parts of India, we established a non-political organization called 'Assam Satriya Sanskritik Mahaparishad, Assam' with keeping in mind For the purpose of promotion and dissemination of Satriya culture. This organization is dedicated to the Satriya culture, and it will serve as a joint platform to work for the promotion of Satriya culture covering Satra-Namghar of all sects and doctrines spread in Assam. The people of Assam have been living with this literature and culture generated by Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavadeva for the last 550 years.

Our Activities

The committee has decided to hold a four-day Satriya Cultural Festival in Guwahati from 22nd to 25th March, 2023 this year. The meeting also decided to form the State Committee of the Council and to hold competitions in Satriya dance, Bargit and Khol playing, Gayan Bayonar and Satriya Ojapali among students aged 10 to 16 years and 16 to 25 years. There will also be seminars on various topics and cultural programs in the evenings. The board of directors of the association has elected Parameswar Dutta as Executive President, Mohan Malakar, Anjali Barthakur, Apurba Ballabh Goswami, Dr. Soumen Bharti as Vice-President, Dimbeswar Das and Gopal Mohanta as Secretaries, Amal Mohanta and Dr. Khagendra Nath Sharma as Associate Secretaries A reception committee was formed with him as the secretary. The Honorable Chief Minister has agreed to be the Chief Sponsor. It was decided to request the Ministers of the departments involved in the conference to be the sponsors and some have given verbal consent. Letters have also been sent to the Chief Ministers of the North East requesting their cooperation.
